Slide Incident of 2012

Many may not have heard about the slide incident of 2012.  Bad memories but just for you I will fill you in on it.

In October 2012, it was a warm and sunny day.  It was the weekend before my birthday.  We were celebrating by going out to eat.  After dinner, we decided to go to our local park and let Caleb play.  My husband and Caleb climbed up the 3 story slide so they could come down.  They had a choice of 2 slides to take.  While I waited on the one that I thought they were going to come down, they came down the other one instead.  By the time I realize this, I see Caleb fly out and land face forward on the ground and busted his lower lip.  As soon as I pick him up and get out of the way, my husband comes down.  Next thing I knew, he also flies out of the slide and landed on the ground but on his butt which ended up hurting his back.

LOL.  So yes, both of them got hurt by a slide.  It is really funny now, especially when you visit the doctor's office, and they look at your chart and say "You were here back in October because you got hurt on a slide???"  LOL.

One thing I have learned out of this.  No matter what you can't protect your child from everything.  If you want to keep your child from being hurt, you have to put them in a bubble.  If a bubble is not an option, you just suck it up and realize you will be going to the doctor sometimes for the most bizarre injuries.  Like falling off of a slide, hit in the head with a giraffe, or shoving a peanut up your nose (no I don't care to elaborate on that one...hehehe...hush Jonathan).  Anything can happen.
